A critical error has occurred while running the virtual machine

Post by oliverhp1 »

Hello, I'm trying to run 32-bit Ubuntu (16.04) on VBox 5.2.16 (also tried 5.1.38 and 5.0.40).
I've attached the log file, there is a "Guru Meditation -2403 (VERR_TRPM_DONT_PANIC)" in there but I've read numerous other posts about similar errors and couldn't figure it out

Please help, I think I'm going to go crazy. Thanks in advance.

I'm using Windows Server 2012 (over remote desktop), with Intel Xeon E5-2680 CPU, 64-bit OS.

Are you trying to run this inside a VM? Nested virtualization is not supported.

Interesting, I hadn't even considered that. Anyways looks like you are correct, thanks for the quick response! I will try on a different machine.
