Virtual Box wont run any VM - certificate path error

Post by rc2018 »

I currently cannot run any virtual machines at all due to these errors attached. Can anyone help to resolve this? I have already tried restarting and also re installing virtualbox but none of that work

Vista is not a supported host OS for VirtualBox since 5.0. Did it ever work?

host os is windows server 2008 and had been running fine. did a couple windows updates and also vb update (i believe 5.1 to 5.2) and then on restart everything stopped working. tried installing an older version of VB as well and that did not fix the issue. even attempted to create a brand new VM and i get the same error message when trying to launch it.

Well, during the upgrades the certificates database seems to have been corrupted. This will cause hardening errors of the type reported, and presumably cause similar problems when installing drivers etc for other apps. I've never had to repair certificate paths so I can't offer any advice except to Google for it.
