shared folder on redhat 6.5 vm not showing

hello ,i have made using settings a shared folder and put it in auto mount ,but its not shown in the media folder of the redhat virtual machine.

where did i go wrong?

Have you tried it with manual mount? Does manual mounting work? First try it like that, and then move to the "deluxe" option of auto-mounting...

Have you tried the manual? You should have a searchable PDF included with your installation (in the /doc directory). Take advantage of that fact, and use it to search the PDF for the terms that interest you.

For example searching for "manual mounting" returns (surprise), ch. 4.3.1 Manual mounting. Oh, and BTW, the next chapter is ch. 4.3.2. Automatic mounting.

hello,the command is:
mount -t vboxsf [-o OPTIONS] sharename mountpoint

sharename i think is my user =john
what is the mount point? could you give an example?

i entered in root
mount -t vboxsf john /home/john/music
it says
/sbin/mount.vboxsf: mounting failed wit the the error : No such device

where did i go wrong?
