VirtualBox 5.2.8
No matter what flavor of Linux is used for a guest, I get the same error on startup as listed in subject above.
Tail of VboxLog is below.
[Mod edit: Tail of VBox.log removed, not that helpful as an excerpt]

Partial log files aren't much help so if you could post the full VBox.log file (zipped of course).
VERR_TRPM_DONT_PANIC can be caused by a number things most of which we could discover from the log file.

Re: Critical Error has occurrred while running the Virtual Machine
Partial logs are not very useful.
Please provide a VM log file. With the VM fully shut down, right click it in the GUI. Select "Show Log" and save "VBox.log" (no other file) to a zip file. Attach the zip here.

Try fixing this :-

Re: Critical Error has occurrred while running the Virtual Machine
This is the most likely cause of your problem. You need to enable VT-x in the BIOS as more and more of the guests require it and support for the raw-mode single CPU guest is being deprecated by the development team.VBox.log wrote:00:00:02.835285 HM: HMR3Init: Falling back to raw-mode: VT-x is disabled in the BIOS for all CPU modes
You are also getting close to using all of the RAM available on your host. You might be OK but you might need to reduce the amount of RAM assigned to the guest, close some applications on the host or buy some more RAM.VBox.log wrote:00:00:01.780021 Host RAM: 3579MB (3.4GB) total, 1247MB available 00:00:02.834464 RamSize <integer> = 0x0000000040000000 (1 073 741 824, 1 024 MB) 00:00:02.834942 VRamSize <integer> = 0x0000000002000000 (33 554 432, 32 MB)

Okay, thanks. I will try that and report back.
Yeah, realize tight on RAM. Only need two guests for the purpose of learning/boning up on Linux for upcoming class. Won't be doing any heavy lifting with these guests. Thx.

Re: Critical Error has occurrred while running the Virtual Machine
I would still reduce guest RAM to 512MB. You can't really afford 1024MB on that host.
