[Solved] VMDK not running anymore 0X80004005

Post by Beowulverine »

I use a Windows 7 Client and Virtual Box 4.3 which runs an OpenSuse.
Not sure if the win Client only made a restart or crashed, but now i can't start the VM Session.
The vmdk is not accessible. I have already read some of the other Posts, but didn't find the solution.

Error: Power up failed (vrc=VINF_SUCCESS, rc=E_FAIL (0X80004005))

VirtualBox 4.3 is ancient and unsupported by Oracle. There may be the odd person around here that has a memory that goes back that far! The recommendation would be to upgrade to the latest version (5.2.10 a I type this) and see if that fixes things. If it doesn't then we will need to see the VBox.log file from the guest (zipped of course).

In what sense? Do you get a "File not found"? What is the exact error message that you're getting?

I have a big imagination, I don't want to start guessing... ;)

Even in German, the error is obviously "File not found". Does the file "C:\Users\Administrator\VirtualBox VMs\dibalog vServer\Neuer Ordner\dibalog.vmdk" exist at all? It doesn't look like it...

"C:\Users\Administrator"? Perhaps a clue to the problem is right there.

It always worked. You think i should try to move it to the actual user directory?

Sorry,
the file was not in
C:\Users\Administrator\VirtualBox VMs\dibalog vServer\Neuer Ordner
it was in
C:\Users\Administrator\VirtualBox VMs\dibalog vServer

Don't know why the directory changed. Transfered the file. Everything is working fine, now.

Thanks and have a good weekend.
