Good morning,
I had a computer with Win7 64bit, in which i created a VM of 15 GB with Win7 32 bit.
The Virtualbox release was 5.0 (if I well remember).
Now, I buy a new computer with Win10 64bit, on which I've mounted VB 5.2.8.
I've imported in VB 5.2.8 the old VM, but it don't work fine...
The mouse pointer go jumping, disappear here and reappear there...
The preference "transparent window" is disabled...
If I click on "full screen window" the window appear more height then the monitor and less width then monitor.
The other behaviours seems ok.
Parameters VM:
- dedicated RAM memory is 2048 Mb
- video memory is 128 Mb
- acceleration 2D and 3D enabled
- net with bridge on card Ethernet (cable connected)
- now, window is in state "climbing" or "proportional" (is this the english translation of italian "scalata"?), with resolution 1152x864
- the opening of windows is very slow
The memory Host is 8 Gb.
With WM opened, the used total memory on the host is 54%.
Is an error import an old VM in the new VB?
Is necessary to create a new machine on VB 5.2.8?
Why I cannot use mode "transparent window" and why the mouse go in this way?
Thanks for answer
Best regards

You should be able to import the VM guests from the old version of VirtualBox and use them with the latest version (5.2.8 as of writing) as it is more or less the same as the normal upgrade procedure for VirtualBox.
It probably means there is something else going on so we need a VBox.log file from the VM guest in question. Boot the VM, ensure the problem is visible, shutdown the VM and post the log file (zipped of course).

He,
I've runned the VM "Delphi-Env", then I've saved the log file, as requested.
Is this ok?
Thanks

Something a bit weird going on. You look to have some GA features enabled (there is a shared folder in the log) but the guest additions don't appear to be reporting themselves or their version number.
I'd start by reinstalling the guest additions and see what happens. If that doesn't work then try disabling 3D and / or 2D acceleration in the graphics and see if that helps your mouse problem.

The log is truncated. I expect the VM was still running, still adding to this log, when the file was grabbed off the disk. We really need complete logs.
And no, if a VM was created for 5.0.x then it is not necessary to recreate it for 5.2.x. Nor is it ever necessary to use the export/import feature when VirtualBox is both the source and target platform. Just use the normal VM move procedure: Howto: Move a VM, it avoids a lot of problems caused by the conversion to a generic "portable" template.

He,
I'm a white stupid man!!!
According to your answer, I've checked: the guest additions are not installed on the VM!!
I remember to have been the action, but in a few days I've transferred two entire computers in two new computers, and perhaps something escaped me...
Ok, now the VMs work fine.
Thanks for the best work you make, the case is solved.
On this occasion, I wish you a happy Easter.
Best regards
