Help with Guru Meditation

Post by Rhys1210 »

Hi I have been using VirtualBox for a while with no issues.

But since yesterday I am getting Guru Meditation Error everytimes windows loads and logs in.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I preferably don't wish to install windows again as the program I use on the VM will take me ages to reinstall.

Thanks

All I can do is suggest that you think about what might have changed on your host since the VM last worked. E.g. has Windows Update enabled Hyper-v on your host?

The actual error you get is a triple fault, which usually indicates that the guest did something really nasty. Have you installed a driver in guest recently? Another possibility is that the guest drive has been corrupted. Do you have a recent backup?

Does the the guest start in safe mode? If so that rules out corruption and host changes, and indicates driver problem in the guest.
