Bridged Networking problem with McAfee HIPS Firewall or McAfee ENS 10.5 Firewall

Post by AJ-User »

Hallo virtualbox Users

I use the following Versions / Config:
Host: Windows 10 LTSB 1607 with McAfee VirusScan Enterprise 8.8 Patch 10 and HIPS Firewall 8.0 Patch 10
Oracle Virtual Box Version: 5.2.2 r119230 (Qt5.6.2)
VM with Windows 7 SP1 x64 without McAfee Firewall and a Bridged Network Adapter to the Notebooks physical NIC.

The McAfee HIPS Firewall on the Host has an Option to allow Bridged Network traffic.
This option does not work with Oracle virtual Box if the Host is a Win10.
When I use VMWare Player as Hypervisor it works.
When I use the newer McAfee Product "ENS 10.5.3 Hotfix 1" it has the same problem.

I have made a case at McAfee Support and they told me after 2 month in Support Level 3 that they do not support Oracle Virtual Box.

I have to create a Product Enhancement Request (PER).

Anyone here with the same problem?
Any idea what kind of Firewall Rule I need to allow all In and Outgoing traffic for the VM? (I have a lot of different VM's on different Hosts. So I don't want to allow the traffic based on IP or MAC of the VM)
Is there an Virtual Box Application exe file for which I can make a Rule to allow all traffic to all VMs?

Best regards
AJ
