@ and " key

@ and " key

I've got a BSD host in WIn7 VirtualBox. The host keyboard settings are English and use the @ as on a UK keyboard. The host computer also uses this.

However, on logging into the host, the @ is being swapped with the " character.

That is very confusing. The host is the physical machine. The guest is the virtual machine. Please try again using the correct terminology so that we know which machine is which.

That sounds like the typical problem with a mix of GB and US systems.

You configured the guest OS with a US-English instead of a UK-English keyboard layout. It's up to you to configure guest software.
