[Solved] Cannot create 64 bit VM in 64 bit Windows 10 Pro

Post by bigdognj »

Processor: Intel Core I7 5500
OS: Windows 10 Pro 64 bit
Installed Memory:8GB
Available Memory: 4.2GB
VirtualBox Version 5.2.6 r120293 (Qt5.6.2)

I am trying to create my first VM with VirtualBox. The dropdown menu for all available operating systems only lists 32 bit versions. I am trying to install a 64 bit Linux VM. Please help.

There is a forum topic here that has some tips and things you need to check.

My crystal ball is currently broken. If you want assistance you are going to have to give me all of the necessary information.
Please don't ask me to do your homework for you, I have more than enough of my own things to do.

Thanks Andy. Uninstalling Hyper-V solved the problem.

If you had used any search engine with these keywords, you'd have found the topic 'andyp73' pointed you to. ;)
Glad you got it going. Marking as [Solved].
