So i have a windows 2008 server setup with dns, dhcp, active directory ,file server and a web server. Yes i know this is a bad network setup its supposed to be, anyway its all running on a host only network and my concern is my windows host computer shows up on the networks tab for my virtual windows machine. I am wondering if this poses a threat to my actual windows host, i am not bridging any networks at all so i am confused as to whether it is something that can be disabled or if its not a problem,
Thanks for any help

Re: Host pc showing on virtual network
Of course your host is going to show in the network, it is part of the network. If you want network isolation, you should try the Internal mode. See following: User Manual, ch. 6.2. Introduction to networking modes including the Overview table, which shows quickly what kind of connection is required to achieve what you want. And remember, you can always have more than one network card in your guest to cover multiple scenarios.Glegan wrote:running on a host only network and my concern is my windows host computer shows up on the networks
