[Solved] virtualbox doesn't run

Post by hayeon »

I'm using Ubuntu - 64 bits for Oracle.
One day, the virtual machine doesn't run when this window pops up.
So I created a new virtual machine, and tried to run it, but it was the same.
And I've delete Oracle and reinstalled it, too.

What should I do in this case?
I would appreciate it if you could help me.
The virtual machine 'ubuntu' has terminated unexpectedly during startup with exit code -1073741819 (0xc0000005). More details may be available in 'C:\Users\hayeon\VirtualBox VMs\ubuntu\Logs\VBoxHardening.log'.

결과 코드: E_FAIL (0x80004005)

Please read really carefully the following FAQ: Diagnosing VirtualBox Hardening Issues.

In your case, it's most probably the Kaspersky Anti-Virus.

PS. For future reference you should ZIP your logs. It helps save a (virtual) tree or two... ;)

Oh, I didn't know that. Thank you very much.

I just removed the Kaspersky vaccine and reinstalled Oracle, but the same error is still happening.......
I've used Kaspersky before, but this problem occurred yesterday.
Is that because of another cause?

Hmm... maybe a Windows update? Please post an updated "VBoxHardening.log.zip". Also, try to see if starting the VM with 2D/3D disabled in the VM Settings » Display, fixes the problem.

Come to think of it.... I've been updating Windows lately. I think there's a problem after that.

When I go into that category, 2D and 3D are not checked.
Also, it is impossible to check.

Check that Windows Update has not enabled Hyper-v. Also check that whether CredentialGuard etc has been enabled. All of these need to be disabled. If you have any antivirus or similar tools (e.g. that filters web browser pages) then disable it.

Also, please say what version of Windows 10 (build number) you have installed. I ask because 5.1.30 is not designed or approved for the latest Win10 host builds.

Oh, my windows10 version is 1703, OS build: 15063.786. Probably it is the latest version.
Then, my windows version is the cause.....
I'll have to look around if I can roll back update. Thank you.

Currently my OS build version is 15063.0, but still can't.
Maybe, More rollback seems impossible..

I didn't suggest rolling back Windows 10, I simply asked what the version was. The step I had in mind was to update VirtualBox to a more recent version, i.e. 5.2.2.

That's after you check the things I mentioned: Hyper-v, CredentialGuard etc.

Umm.....I see. Then, I'll have to wait until the newer version comes out.
Thanks for your help :)

No, you do not have to wait at all. There have been a few versions since 5.1.30 . The current one is 5.2.2 .

Because you're checking for an update (5.1.x), not an upgrade (5.2.x) and the developers don't feel that the 5.2.x series should trigger an "Update available". Yet...

Post a new ZIPPED VBoxHardening.log.
