  1. The .vbox file looks really weird. Did you edit it? Did you "crop" or "chop" it?
  2. Are you mounting the "Q:\virtualpc\7\71.vhd" in Windows?
  3. What is drive "Q:\"?
  4. Where did you get this VM from?
  5. Are you possibly trying to use XP-mode?
Do NOT send me Personal Messages (PMs) for troubleshooting, they are simply deleted.

If you obfuscate any information requested, I will obfuscate my response. These are virtual UUIDs, not real ones.

sry for my bad English, i will try to make it short, i did some several trys this is the outcome.

i did new Windows Installation but have still the same Problem unable to use vhd.by mistake i did delete the vm in the Oracle vm virtual box maneger but still have the files on my disk.

1. .vbox file is a copy i send another vbox now, it might be different after all the wastet tries i did opening my vhd file, i did´nt edit Things, except renaming it to .txt to be able to upload it here.
2. yes my running os is windows10 64bit
3. Q:\ is the Name of the hdd attached to my pc, where i store stuff where my virtual disk is. (orginally the harddiskdrive was named F:\) i changed it now back to F:\! cuz it didnt help changing it to Q:\ to get my corrupted vhd working.
4.the vbox is locatet on my machine here C:\Users\tests\VirtualBox VMs\72
5. the vhd operating system is win 7

thanks for the Reply

Looks like i cant del this.... found a solution and made a new vhd

for evryone else haveing same probs this might help to know
i did some edit the vbox
im able to put it in the virtual maneger and have a new error.

Code: Select all

Could not open the medium 'F:\virtualpc\7\71.vhd'.
VD: Image file 'F:\virtualpc\7\71.vhd' is corrupted and can't be opened (VERR_VD_IMAGE_CORRUPTED).
i guess a try with Linux os to go in the corrupted vhd would do, my bios doesnt allow any Linux to be run with my cpus and im not gonna look up why.
