VB 5.2.2 Windows 10 client File System Errors

Post by dale303 »

Since upgrading to 5.1.28 and every update up to 5.2.2, I've been unable to get my Windows 10 VM to work properly. I get File system error (-1073741819) whenever trying to use something that needs elevation.

It seems like it's the same as https://www.virtualbox.org/ticket/17082 but it's obviously not fixed.

Windows 10 1709 Host with Windows 10 insider Preview 17025.1000 as client

Seems to work with 3D acceleration turned off

I'm not sure why you would think it's the same error, I don't see it mentioned anywhere in the ticket.

On the other hand, if you search for "error 1073741819", you'll get a lot of results that point to articles that have the same symptoms as you. Just because a program that runs in the context of VirtualBox has a problem, it doesn't make it a VirtualBox problem. You're having an issue that has most probably nothing to do with VirtualBox, so my suggestion would be to treat it as such, as a native problem with the OS or the application of the guest.
