As an addendum to the previous message,
if I click on Cancel, to try to open the Devices drop down list, the system crashes as well.

I was wondering if the program isn't creating the virtual drives at all.
Is that a possibility?

Thanks.

Finally got it to work.
1st, went to another of my Windows 10 computers (say #2) and installed VirtualBox. I got it to work there.

2nd, tried to figure out what was different. I hadn't installed Hyper-V on #2.

Searched on internet for how to remove Hyper-V.
I had thought I disabled it correctly, but didn't do it right, I thought Hyper-V manager would do it, but it didn't for some reason.
Went to Windows Features screen on #1 and unclicked Hyper-V.
It restarted my computer.
I was able to install a working VirtualBox on computer #1 and it got my DOS machine to work OK.

So Hyper-V was the problem.
Unfortunately I need Hyper-V for emulators and simulators and other programs I use.
So Hyper-V comes back on computer #1, and VirtualBox will live on computer #2.

So that's the solution, but someone will have to figure out how to make these two programs work together.

So, sorry for all the missteps I took. My only excuse is my 74 year old brain doesn't work like it used to.

I hope this helps anyone who is having this problem.

Thanks again, and CU all.

I asked you about Hyper-V and you told me it was disabled. I told you that Win10 re-activates Hyper-V and you told me it was disabled. ;)

Glad you got it going finally, marking this as [Solved].
