Is it possible for a vm to access several optical drives?

Post by VBnovice »

Using a program called Alcohol120 I have created several virtual DVD drives on the W10 host, each containing an iso image.
The vm I created in that W10 pc sees these virtual DVD drives and I can select each individually as "the" optical drive.
Is it possible to have more than one virtual DVD drives selected in the vm (devices) simultaneously? As if the PC had several optical drives installed?

That depends on the VM. If it's a VM designed for a modern guest OS that supports SATA then yes you can have more than one optical drive in the VM recipe.

It's a pity you didn't ask this in the guest OS forum since the chosen forum "Windows Hosts" is not relevant to the question asked.
