Linux guest hang at login after Win 10 Fall Creators Update

Hi, I decided to try Ubuntu version 16.04.3 64bit booted as a live CD on my Windows 10 virtual machine running on VirtualBox 5.1.3. It runs as expected and loads to the desktop. I can try creating a new virtual machine if you think it may help. What video card do you have on your Windows 10 host.?

Yep. As soon as 3D Acceleration is enabled Ubuntu just hangs after I put in my password. I tried earlier with a fresh image also, same deal. Worked fine prior to the Fall Creators Update.

System is still hanging on Ubuntu 17.04 after login when 3D Acceleration is enabled with VirtualBox 5.2.2 and Extentions 5.2.2.

What can I do to help fix this?

I did not, thank you for pointing this out! I must have completely skimmed over it, glad to know they're looking into it though.

It affected both my Linux (Mint 32bit) and Windows 10 64bit Insider Preview guests before I upgraded my video card. Now they all work with 3D Acceleration enabled.

Note: (updated 8 December 2017) The Guest Additions image with the 5.2.2 release still has some known problems with certain Linux distributions when 3D acceleration is enabled. These may be fixed in the current development series test builds.

I downloaded the latest "development revision 119529" file, installed and updated the Extension Pack. I shutdown the VM and enabled 3D Acceleration and HUZZAH! It works!
