Adding a second virtual HDD to a Windows guest
Adding a second virtual HDD to a Windows guest
I am running a WindowsXP guest on a host running Windows 10. I am trying to add a second virtual HDD to the guest. I fill everything out in the storage tab, but the drive isn't visible in the guest.

You need to partition and format a new disk when you add it to a PC. Virtual PCs are no different.
Run the Disk Manager inside the guest. XP will likely guess what you're going in there for, and immediately offer to partition the new drive. You'll want to allocate the whole drive to one partition, and remember to format it too (NTFS).
