After replace .vhd file, Win7 can't boot up

Post by SamuelT »

Hello, I have a question need help, I use VMWARE before, 1 year ago, I remove VMware from my computer and start using virtualbox. As my virtual machine(win7) have lots of data, so I convert disk from .VMDK to .vhd, and add to my virtualbox, and create a new win7 system in virtualbox and using this .vhd file. Win7 is running well in virtualbox, and all old data reserved, Normally, I copy win7.vhd file every month to backup entire system(data). I think if my virtual system have some problem, I can simply copy back backup data, I did this method in previous VMware virtual server, no issue.
today, my win7 system have some problem, So I delete the original win7 vhd file, and copy it back from my backup place(copy to original file location). then I power up win7, but system show Fatal: could not read from the boot medium! system halted.
I try to create a new virtual server ,and attach this vhd file as primary disk, but system still can't bootup, and show same error. Anyone can help me? thanks.

As I changed default virtual machine location to E drive, So in this case, I just delete win7.vhd file , and copy back from backup location. but system can't bootup.
