Multible Monitor / Save different settings / Shortcut

Post by MarioMan »

Hi,

it is possible, this topic can also be in "Using VirtualBox" but at this time i'm using vbox on a windows host.

i use vbox on my windows 10 notebook and i have 2 workingplaces with different docking stations. first working place has an dual monitor setting, if you include the notebook display, then there are three monitors. The second working place has three monitors and if you include the notebook, then on this place are four monitors.

But, that's not the problem, because i know, how i can a config the vbox host to use triple displays in the vm's!

My problem is, i switch daily between the working places and every time, it is necessary to change the "view -> virtual monitor to host monitor" settings! In the meantime, that is very painful for me and makes me angry, already at the beginning of the day.

I have tried, to change the connections, etc. but that has not really success.

The best way, i think, it is to start the vm with a shortcut, with different setting!

My question now is,
  • is there a way to start a vm with command line options to config the monitor settings?
  • Or, to write a script to change the settings before starting the vm?
  • Or, what ever? :-)
I hope, there is a solution and thanks in advance!
Have a nice day!
BR
