Looking at the FAQ I haven't found any of the suggestions to solve the error that I get both the "blue screen" or the error message (when the guest memory is set to 4 Gb or above).

I'm afraid I don't recognize "blue screen of death" as an error report. You'd have to describe the actual error code.

It is not an error code. It is just what happens. I get a "blue screen of death" and the computer reboots whenever I start the VM with less than 4 Gb of RAM. There is no error code or report. I am not sure how to diagnose the problem.
