Failed to open session for VirtualMachine

A few weeks ago VirtualBox stopped running on all Windows machines at work.

When attempting to start a VM we get the same error message (copied below).

Please find attached the hardening logs for a normal and headless start (both produce the same error).

After re-installing many different versions of VirtualBox we suspect that this is due to a Windows update.

I'd be very grateful if anyone could suggest a fix/workaround. Thanks.

The virtual machine 'Rightmove1' has terminated unexpectedly during startup with exit code -1073741819 (0xc0000005). More details may be available in 'C:\Users\<User name>\VirtualBox VMs\<VM name>\Logs\VBoxHardening.log'.

In your case the most probable culprit is CylancePROTECT.
