importing bookmarks

I installed virtualbox in windows 10 and installed Ubuntu, seems to be working fine except, I can't seem to import my internet explorer's bookmarks into firefox

Can anyone help?

Well, if Firefox is installed in your Ubuntu VM, then it's on a different Computer to IE which is why you can't directly import from one browser to the other, i.e. they can't communicate directly unless you share the file location with the VM so that Firefox can import from the file..

Under Shared Folders I add the path to my Favourites, but still can't import them

what am I doing wrong?

Seeing/Copying the file is where the VirtualBox problems end. After that, it's not a VirtualBox problem anymore. Treat it as such...
