Moving does not require either cloning or exporting. See Howto: Move a VM. It basically very simple: you just move the VM folder, but you have to unregister it first.

To unregister a VM just right click it in the UI and choose "Remove". You will be asked if you want to delete the physical files too - ANSWER NO. Then shut down VirtualBox and move the VM folder to another path.
