Can recent Win 7 update effect virtualization???

Post by bobmct »

Host PC: Older Compaq CQ56 w/AMD V140 CPU and 8 GB RAM running Win 7 current.
Already had Virtualbox 5.1.12 installed and running Linux Mint 18.
Last week it updated from M$ and after reboot it will NOT load/run Linux. Complains that V-technology is not available.
Checked BIOS, ran optionalfeatures and cannot find anything that would lock V-tech.

Anyone have any ideas? :?:

Please go thoroughly through the FAQ: I have a 64bit host, but can't install 64bit guests.
Do NOT send me Personal Messages (PMs) for troubleshooting, they are simply deleted.
Do NOT reply with the "QUOTE" button, please use the "POST REPLY", at the bottom of the form.
If you obfuscate any information requested, I will obfuscate my response. These are virtual UUIDs, not real ones.
