Tiny VirtualBox GUI in 4K screens.

Post by ant »

Hello.

My work recently gave me a Lenovo Thinkpad P50 with its updated W10 EE & 4K screen. However, VirtualBox looks weird with overlapped texts, icons, etc. Does VirtualBox not support 4K fully at this time? I couldn't find anything about it in the manual, forum, and web site. :(

Thank you in advance. :)

http://i.imgur.com/r3bjvq3.png since I can post links. Yeah, mine looked like that even though scale worked for guest VMs inside, but not everything else. :(

You can and should post images here. Check your host's DPI settings or anything non-default in your host.
Do NOT send me Personal Messages (PMs) for troubleshooting, they are simply deleted.
Do NOT reply with the "QUOTE" button, please use the "POST REPLY", at the bottom of the form.
If you obfuscate any information requested, I will obfuscate my response. These are virtual UUIDs, not real ones.

For my former work's Lenovo Thinkpad P50, 64-bit W10 EE was using its display native defaults.

Another example of the HiDPI problem, this is a 4K laptop screen.

As others have said, the guests can be configured to work "properly" but the main interface cannot.

VirtualBox 5.1.10 on Windows 10 Pro.

Windows 10 (Creator's Update)

Under Properties -> Compatibility
- Check the 'Override High DPI scaling behaviour' box
- Set the DPI scaling to 'System (Enhanced)'

This fixed the scaling issue show in my screenshot. Let me know if it works for anyone else.
