Hi. I'm new to Virtualbox so I really shouldn't be giving advice but this does look like a name resolution problem.
Did you drop the firewall on client and DC?
In bridge mode, the VM will use the DNS settings of the host. Is the client's DNS settings pointing to a DNS server running on the DC? If not, can the DNS server resolve the DC? And does the DC DNS server hold a record for the client?
You did not mention which MS Server was your DC, Server 2012 R2 perhaps? Can you post a DNS log?
