Where is the "Devices menu" ?

Post by Syncopator »

I have Virtual Box version 5.0.18 installed on Windows 8.1, with Windows XP as the guest.

I want to activate drag and drop bi-laterally. I can't see a Devices menu anywhere so I can't activate Guest Additions. Where is it?

It's on the main menu of the VM.

Thank you for the response mpack. My screen doesn't have that menu bar.

Go to the guest settings from the manager and look in "User Interface"

Thank you FrodoHobbits .

Theses are the selected items in the User Interface. I still don't have the menu bar in the guest.

Are you in "Scaled Mode"? There's no menubar there. Press HOST+C to return to Windowed Mode.

Also, in Scaled Mode you can press HOST+Home to get the menu anyway.

Try this. Shut down all VMs and the manager. In a command line type :-

Code: Select all

VBoxManage setextradata global GUI/Customizations

Is that "thank you I'll try that", or "thank you that worked" ?

One or two other things which necessitate my attention have cropped up. I won't have time to look into the VMBox problem for a while.
I am going to uninstall it for the time being. Will attend to it in due course.
