After months of having no issue's with virtualbox while using it on daily basis, now my Ubuntu guest freezes sometimes; say two times in a week.
I have collected (and attached) two loggings made directly after the freeze.
After the first freeze i upgrades vbox and also i disabled the audio but basically i have no clue what to try.... at up till now the problem remains.
Anyone some idea's?
Paul

Re: Ubuntu 14.04 freezes regularly on Windows 7 host
I suggest that you install the extension pack, or else disable USB support entirely in the guest: your guest seems to be attempting something over USB, which wil take an age if you continue using USB 1.1.
Also: I'd reduce RAM to the guest significantly: you can't afford to give the guest 12GB when your host only has 12GB available. I'd suggest 6GB to the guest.
Similarly: you can't give the guest 6 cores when your host only has 4. I don't intend to have the inevitable conversation again, so just search the forum for discussions of threads vs cores. You should assign a max of 3 cores to the guest.

Thanks mpack!
I've made the modifications as suggested (disable usb, reduce mem/cores), no freezes so far; but then again i will need to run it for some days to be sure the problem is resolved...
