Vbox not responding after splash screen...
Vbox not responding after splash screen...
So Im installing Ubuntu 14.04.3 as a guest machine on my host Win7 64bit with Vbox 5.0.12. I have tried both 64 and 32 versions of Ubuntu. After the splash screen the vbox screen goes blank and get the (Not Responding) at the title bar. Although in the preview section in the manager there appears to be something that is displayed but cannot make it out due to the size. After a while I simply have to abort the start of the machine. I have an AMD FX 6300 processor, and have enabled virtualization in the bios. I have also installed and enabled hyper-v, this made no difference. I downloaded the windows utility to test the amd chip to make sure virtualization was on and indeed it was. Im completely stumped and have no clue as to what to try next. Any help?

Re: Vbox not responding after splash screen...
Hyper-v has to be disabled for VirtualBox.

Re: Vbox not responding after splash screen...
Please post a VM log file. With the VM fully shut down, right click it in GUI. Select "Show Log" and save "VBox.log" (ONLY) to a zip file. Attach the zip here.
Re: Vbox not responding after splash screen...
Ive attached the log file. I tried an older version of vbox, and disabled hyper-v, still have the same issue.

Re: Vbox not responding after splash screen...
Try reducing the number of cpus for the guest to 2, the RAM to 2048 and see how that runs.

Re: Vbox not responding after splash screen...

Re: Vbox not responding after splash screen...
Yes, there is something unusual. Your first post said you were running VirtualBox 5.0.12 but your log says…
You should update to VB 5.0.12 or 4.3.34.VirtualBox VM 4.2.36 r104064 win.amd64 (Nov 10 2015 22:02:10) release log

Re: Vbox not responding after splash screen...
Yes, i was on 5.0.12 so i went with a previous release of 4.2.36 to see if that was my issue and it wasnt. The log is from 4.2.36
Re: Vbox not responding after splash screen...
Just went down to 4.2.34 and no success. In the small preview screen I can see that the Ubuntu 14.04 splash screen comes up but my machine screen remains blank. On the preview screen there is some sort of message on the Ubuntu splash screen, which i believe is some sort of error message. I cannot make it out at all since the screen is so small. Is there any other info that I should post. Here is the current snapshot.
