Failed to start session for virtual machine

Hey,
the other day a program unexpectedly terminated the virtualbox process, and now I get this error message whenever I attempt to start it up:

The VM is running a Windows Server 2012 server, host is Windows 10.

Does anyone know a solution to this issue?

Hello, everyone.
I have exactly the same problem after my Operation System (windows 10) have been updated (13.12.2015).
Any advice would be helpful.

Today, I restarted my computer, launched VM with Ubuntu and it worked!

So then I assume the problem was caused by the Windows Update? (as I experienced it in the same manner, but didn't realize that windows had updated until you mentioned just now)

After my third reinstall of VirtualBox it suddenly started working again! Not sure what changed, but it must have been something.
