Does anyone one know Win2000 Host bridge or setting ?

Post by elitecllau »

Hello everyone,
I have read all the message from the user menu and this forum, but still cannot find any instruction for Win2000(host) network bridge.

I'm using Win2000(Host) and Linux Fedora6 (guest)
My configuration like this:

Real Physical Network Card (win2000)
IP 10.40.0.113
Mask255.255.255.0
GW10.40.0.2 (my broadband router IP)

Virtual Network card(win2000)
IP 192.168.0.10
Mask:255.255.255.0
GW: 10.40.0.113

eth0 (Linux)
IP 192.168.0.20
Mask:255.255.255.0
GW:192.168.0.10

I can ping 10.40.0.113 from Linux
but still cannot access Internet
When i fall back to DHCP or any other setting
will cannot ping 10.40.0.113(my Host IP)

Does anyone can help me to solve this problem ? Thanks all

There is *no* such feature available in Windows 2000. (and not in VBox)

You can emulate it by using Dynamips/Dynagen of course. Alternatively, you can use routing or VPN to access your guest. The easiest VPN around is Hamachi VPN.
