Vista host results in live mouse, dead keyboard

Post by redboot »

Had good luck setting up XP guest on my Vista host. However, when I install Ubuntu 7.04 as guest I can boot from live CD, install the OS and reboot, but when Ubuntu login screen appears and I click mouse in screen, the keyboard acts as if it's dead. The mouse continues to work, but I can't use the keys either to enter the user name or to use the Host key. Since my mouse is bound inside the guest window, my only recourse is to Crl-Alt-Del to bring up vista Task Manager.

Any ideas on what causes this? VirtualBox is working amazingly well in all other respects.

I have had similar "dead keyboard" in certain other cases that I can detail if it helps.
