Hello.
Any time I want to start any sort of Virtual Machine on my Windows 10 Pro 64-bit system, I get a message saying:
"LoadLibrary failed with error 1114: A dynamic link library (DLL) initialization routine failed."
I managed to obtain information from "VBoxHardening" file, where the last line said this:
'C:\Windows\system32\ig4icd64.dll'
10d4.e20: supR3HardNtChildWaitFor[2]: Quitting: ExitCode=0x45a (rcNtWait=0x0, rcNt1=0x0, rcNt2=0x103, rcNt3=0x103, 577827 ms, the end);
10a4.1074: supR3HardNtChildWaitFor[1]: Quitting: ExitCode=0x45a (rcNtWait=0x0, rcNt1=0x0, rcNt2=0x103, rcNt3=0x103, 578327 ms, the end);
This error pops up immediately after starting a VM. There's a progress bar saying "Starting VM," but it's on 0% when the error appears. I tried creating another VM with a different system on it, but the error pops up before I could open the VM for the first time.
I googled ig4icd64.dll, it turns out it's a driver for OpenGL Intel Graphics something. I've got HP Pavilion g6 1304sm laptop, with Intel HD 3k + AMD Radeon HD 7450M GPU. The laptop shipped with Win7, I updated to Win10 and lost the ability to switch GPUs (HP never bothered to update drivers, so I'm stuck with using Intel exclusively).
I'm seeking for help and asking if the DLL routine error is caused by broken Intel-AMD switchability, or it's something else. (I successfully made this machine I'm attempting to create (WinXP x86) on my previous Win7 system with no errors. I'm using the VB version 5.0.8.)
Error 1114 on attempt to start a VM (Win10 x64)
Re: Error 1114 on attempt to start a VM (Win10 x64)
Hi,
I also have a HP laptop with AMD switchable graphics which i have upgraded to windows 10, adding Virtualbox.exe manually to switchable graphics and setting it to "high performance" resolved this for me, i guess it works around the Intel graphics issue by running virtualbox graphics on the AMD GPU instead.
Sorry I doubt this helps much if you are missing the switchable graphics application, though i believe i am running the windows 8 drivers supplied on the HP website specifically for my laptop, you may be able to install the windows 8 AMD drivers from HP to get utility back.

Re: Error 1114 on attempt to start a VM (Win10 x64)
I upgraded recently from Windows 7 to Windows 10 HP laptop host. My Ubuntu 14.04 guest faIled with the Error 1114. I've disabled 3D graphic acceleration and the guest works fine.
Re: Error 1114 on attempt to start a VM (Win10 x64)
Thanks a lot. Disabling the 3D graphic acceleration in Virtual Box settings worked for me too, I was running Windows 10 guest on a Windows 10 host.
