Commercial Firewall Block Guest from Communicating with LAN

Post by woodword »

Summary:
Host and Guest: both Windows XP
Virtualbox 1.6.0
Commercial Firewall: ZoneAlarm Internet Security Suite 7
Guset OS access type:Virtual Host Interface
Problem:
I would like my guest OS to communicate with LAN and other host on LAN to see my guest OS, so I configed my guest OS to Virtual Host Interface exactly as what the Manual said, and then at first guest could not communicate with LAN (on the contrary, host can), but after I shut down my firewall coincidentally, I found it worked and guest could get access into LAN.
But I do not want to shut down my firewall all the time for the sake of security, so can any one tell me how to config my firewall rules so that it will not block the guest OS ?

This is a ZA problem. I use Agnitum Outpost Firewall Pro and I can use HIF just fine without any problems. However, if I want to access internet using NAT, it won't work (HIF is not an option, as I connect using wifi). See if there is anything on google or the ZA site for discussions on virtualisation programs and not functioning networks.
