Dynamic disk size
Dynamic disk size
Hi, I'm installing Ubuntu 7.04 in VirtualBox. While installing, I got a popup saying that the disk space is getting low. Before, I created a VM, I selected the default 2gb dynamic disk space. Is it expanding as it should? Should I continue the Ubuntu installation, because it still seems to keep going?
A dynamically expanding disk keeps the size of the file for the virtual disk about the same size as the information on the disk. It does not affect the ultimate size of the disk, which is set and cannot be changed when the virtual drive is created.
Most installations of Ubuntu takes up a lot more room than 2GB. I would recommend at least 4GB plus however much storage you think you will eventually need.
