Windows 10 Hosts
Re: Windows 10 Hosts
It's a bug. See my comment: viewtopic.php?f=6&t=68590&p=330249#p330249
Also, the official ticket for this bug: https://www.virtualbox.org/ticket/14040#comment:36
I tried the "VBox-Win10-fix-14040.exe" fix that is provided by one of the user in the group, but not working for me. The host-only adapter appears when the exe is open, but next time, simply disappears again. This bug needs urgent fix, because many of our development environments are useless without internet.

1/3 of the time VirtualBox starts VM successfully (Ubuntu 15.04 guest), but 2/3 of the time I get:

Re: Windows 10 Hosts
Hi guys, I am new here. I am running two Linux guests. Ubuntu 14.04LT and Fedora 20. Both ran perfectly under Win 8.1 host. Two issues that I have experienced so far are, No sound and only NAT networking works. At first I uninstalled VirtualBox 4.3.30 to and installed 5 but then nothing worked at all. I then uninstalled 5 again and reinstalled 4.3.30. I got it up but had to make changes to revert to USB 2.0. Then I installed 5 with 4.3.30 in place after I stopped the VirtualBox service that was still running. I now have my two machines running with USB 3.0 and with NAT for networking, but still no sound. It seems therefore that these two problems are the common issues that are outstanding. To be fair after the upgrade from 4.3.28 to 4.3.30 on Windows 8.1 I lost networking on all but NAT, so that problem may have come from 8.1 already. The sound issue is new and I have tried everything without any luck. We therefore need to find out what is different between 7/8.1 and 10 as the issue is related to that difference in architecture. (Perhaps a sound /network driver issue?)

Re: Windows 10 Hosts
It appears you upgraded while the guests were in saved state. Discard the state and see if the guest/s will boot.
That said you may still have issues as W-10 is not supported in version 5.0

I'd love to upgrade to W10 but VB is critical for my work, I need to be sure it will work

Re: Windows 10 Hosts
No. At a minimum, bridged and host-only networking won't work. I don't know what other problems there might be.anouvel wrote:Anyone knows if VirtualBox 4.3 is supported on a W-10 host ?
Please wait until Windows 10 is officially supported. You're not really missing out anyway.I'd love to upgrade to W10 but VB is critical for my work, I need to be sure it will work

Re: Windows 10 Hosts
FWIW, Bridged works for me with Linux guests. Based on other posts it looks like others are having issues with Bridged. If I can supply any info I'd be happy to.

This is same with the latest stable and testing 5.0.x releases also. I'm using Windows 10 official final release.
NEEDS URGENT FIX!
Use the NAT adapter. The only network adapter that's working with Windows 10 now. You can forward everything wherever you want: 127.0.0.1:8081 -> 22 for example. So you can start to work again.
