Files to be restored

Post by troglo »

While I was working in Windows XP as guest I changed a shared folder.
Therafter I am no more able to open Windows XP as I am getting following error message:
Failed to open a session for the virtual machine WinXP5.
Failed to load unit 'HGCM' (VERR_INVALID_PARAMETER).
Result Code: E_FAIL (0x80004005)
Component: Console
Interface: IConsole {8ab7c520-2442-4b66-8d74-4ff1e195d2b6}

I have a full backup of my PC and therefore I should be able to restore Virtualbox, but I don't know what files/directories I should restore.
Can please somebody help me?

Have you tried to remove all shared folders in the guest settings first?

Cannot remove the shared folders.
I get following messages:

Please close all programs in the guest OS that may be using this shared folder and try again.
The machine is not mutable (state is Saved).

You need to discard the saved state first. Look at the top icons in the main manager.

I can now enter into the guest OS, but after I created a shared folder I don't see it in Windows Explorer.
