Virtualbox make Wacom_Tablet.exe consume much more memory

Post by NoNoNo »

I notice Wacom_Tablet.exe have strange memory consumption for a while. Now I'm sure Wacom_Tablet.exe memory increase continuously when VM start. Since Wacom_Tablet.exe behave normally while Virtualbox VM turn OFF, I can not assume this case wacom can help.

Any advice? :?:

Virtualbox 4.3.26
HOST: Windows 7 64bit with 48GB ram
GUEST: Windows XP 32bit with 2GB ram
Wacom_Tablet.exe is system service named "TouchServiceWacom" (Wacom Professional Touch Service)
Wacom Driver Version: 6.2.0w5

Haven't seen much mention of Wacom tablets here in the forum & less mention of conflicts between one of them and Virtualbox. If I were you I'd try to tell the developers on the Bugtracker (https://www.virtualbox.org/wiki/Bugtracker). Post evidence of the memory issue you see (more than just quote "It happens" unquote). Screenshots, logs, etc.

No concrete solution after months... ticket #14272

Some user shared script that help affected users to reset driver or so. Equivalent to stop wacom service, wait it release memory, then start service again.

Caution: It may not work at all environments. If so, try to customize it. I hope that would save a little time for others.
