Age is not an issue, or we would have said so. The above CPU is relatively modern and supports VT-x. I've never heard of a motherboard capable of running that generation of CPU that didn't have a VT-x setting in the BIOS.

according to my research, it semblerai VT-x represent "Vanderpool Technology" in BIOS.
I'll see what happens by activating it.

I am trying to install Windows 8.1Pro via VirtualBox on my Windows config 7PRO 64bit, and no error message.

I have yet to try, but I also Vanderpool Technolgy on CM ASUS P5B DELUXE, it just remains for me to activate it, so that the installation of the VM running on Ubuntu.

I resolved it looking in Sytem of WP. It was one element on Yellow, a usb thatb disturbed all the process. I pik out this USB and the W10 installs correctly.

I have the same error. I am using VMware Player 7.1.2 build-2780323 and a Dell T3500 mashine with a Intel Xeon X5570 prozessor. It should have VT-x I checked it. It is enabled in the BIOS of the mashine, and HWinfo64 shows me that it is enabled and working.
But I get this error trying to start a Windows 8 image trough virtual DVD-drive.
What can I do ?

I solved the problem. I needed to set in Bios execute XD to enabled and now it works fine.

at older versions of virtualbox i was able to install win 7 x86 on my debian but now i cant my system has not vt-x in bios and no-execute memory protect is enabled at default whats problem with newer version of virtualbox ? i enabled PAE/NX and it fixed 0xc0000260 but after it now i get 0x0000000A how i should fix it ?

change chipset from PIIX3 to ICH9 and enabling I/O APIC are useless
