Error code: 0x0000000A then I try to create VM Windows 8.1Pr

Post by F4R3LL »

Hello,

Whether on Windows 7 Pro 64bit or Ubuntu 14.04LTS , I get almost the same error message when I try installing a Windows VM 8.1Pro via an ISO file (it works with VMware-Player), I use VirtualBox Version 4.3.12 because there is a bug when launching of the Version 4.3.14 :

With Windows 7 I get this error:

Code: Select all

Your PC needs to restart.
Please hold down the power button.
Error code: 0x0000000A
Parameters:
0×FFFFFFE6
0x0000001F
0x00000000
0×81B2450B
With Ubuntu 14.04LTS I get this:

Code: Select all

Your PC needs to restart.
Please hold down the power button.
Error code: 0x0000000A
Parameters:
0×FFFFFFE6
0x0000001F
0x00000000
0×8152950B
only last line differs

I do not know what to do !!!

Thanks for the help you can give me.

Regards

note: sorry for my English, but I'm French

Code: Select all

00:00:01.346866 HMR3Init: Falling back to raw-mode: VT-x is disabled in the BIOS.
Win 8 requires that VT-x be enabled in your bios.

Why are you posting in "Windows Hosts" when your log file says you have a Linux x86 host? If you switched hosts then which one has the correct BIOS setting and CPU type?

And why does the log say "4.3.14" when you said you switched to 4.3.12?

VirtualBox keeps logs of the last four sessions. "VBox.log" is the most recent, "VBox.log.3" is the oldest - you seem to have given us the oldest log, in addition to switching hosts.

Please give us a log which is correct for the single scenario you want us to consider.

i have say this because I used VirtualBox on two PC
And why does the log say "4.3.14" when you said you switched to 4.3.12?
Because on Windows the 4.3.14 do not fonction, theire are a error message when I play Virtualbox, for this i used the 4.3.12
but on Ubuntu 14.04LTS the 4.3.14 it's OK

OK I post the log from my PC Ubuntu.
and the next time I post the log from my PC Windows

On both PCs, the "Acceleration" tab in "Système" properties in the VM is not Branch is accessible, it is grayed

I can't attached the VBox.log from Windows PC because the file is too big

Your host PC needs to have hardware virtualization enabled in the bios. Not in VirtualBox as it will take care of that itself.

Also you can compress the log file before you try to attach it.

00:00:03.186904 HMR3Init: Falling back to raw-mode: VT-x is disabled in the BIOS.

Well you better check it a forth or fifth time then because the logs say it is disabled in your hosts bios.

You know what this is right? The place you have to hit a special key when you boot the PC to configure the bios features.

I traveled all the documentation of my motherboard, and neither is mentioned in VT-x
I doubt them, thinking that "Vanderpool technology"it was VT-x, but no, this is where my confusion come.

result, my PCs are not compatible for virtualization of Windows 8 or 8.1

So, I uninstalled and / or deleted which was more useful to me (VM player, VM configuration file, virtual HDD, etc ...)
I kept only for VirtualBox the other facility VM.

VT-x means "virtualization technologies". Not Vanderpool.

You need to contact your PC manufacturer or user manual for how to enable the VT-x setting. All we can do is repeat what the log says: VT-x support is currently disabled in your host PC's BIOS.

I did not need to contact the manufacturer of my motherboard, because simply reading the official documentation, there is no option VT-x
CMs are old, it does no more updated BIOS disponilbe.
my CMs are simply not compatible for virtualization of Windows 8 or 8.1
