Re: VM inaccessible
Thank you! This helped me solve the problem because it made me try other solutions. I opened up the cmd shell and opened up the same directory as the VBOX-PREV file and realized that the VBOX file was just right there. I changed the explorer settings to show hidden files, however I could not see any more files than before. So, that's was when I realized that the Virtual Box Definition file that I had seen all the time was the file I was looking for. It is not editable straight off so I had to look it up with the notepad.
Removing the DVDs inside the DVD tag made the VM accessible again.

So the "vbox" extension on files is hidden, and the file you want will be one of those files in the same folder which appears to have no extension.Girot wrote:I am not quite sure where the active ".vbox" file is located.
Please turn that stupid feature off. Open a file browser window, display the menu toolbar if it's currently hidden, then select Tools|Folder Options|View tab and disable aforesaid option.
It has crossed my mind to wonder if you knowledgeable enough to edit the xml file? I suggest backing up the .vbox file before editing it. Then identify the line in the local media registry which contains the ISO, then search for all occurrences of its UUID, deleting any <image> line you find, as well the media reg entry. If you aren't sure then post a zip here containing the .vbox file, and one of us will do it.

Re: VM inaccessible
The explorer option to show hidden files is not the setting I mentioned. I gave you the exact wording to look for, so it shouldn't be hard to find - especially since you already know how to get to the options panel.
