@Derragen: please read the first post of this thread. Basically, you shouldn't be posting unless you have tried the fix (4.3.15).

Hi.. I installed 3rd build of v4.3.15, but I'm still having problems, but only with vagrant builds. Can create a normal GUI VM just fine. I'm posting here because the log reports same issue as others. When building via vagrant it builds the VM image but it can't connect to it via SSH. When I run the created build manually, it seems to just go to a blank screen straight after the BIOS POST stage and does nothing.

My setup is:
- Windows 8.1 (64-bit)
- Core i5-based Lenovo laptop, 8GB RAM
- Grisoft AVG Internet Security 2014 v2014.0.4745 (still in eval)

My Vagrantfile is (image link removed because I'm a newbie, but type is described  ):

Code: Select all

# Base box: www dot vagrantbox dot es
# name: Official Ubuntu 14.04 daily Cloud Image amd64 (Development release, No Guest Additions)
Vagrant.configure("2") do |config|
    config.vm.box = "xxxxx_dev"
    config.vm.box_url = ""
    config.vm.provider "virtualbox" do |vb|
        vb.customize ["modifyvm", :id, "--natdnshostresolver1", "on"]
    end
    config.vm.network :forwarded_port, guest: 80, host: 8080
    config.vm.synced_folder "data", "/media/shared"
    config.vm.provision :shell, :path => "dev-bootstrap.sh"
end
Error in VBoxStartup log is:

Code: Select all

2340.1a78: supR3HardenedMonitor_NtCreateSection: Not a trusted location: '\Device\HarddiskVolume5\Program Files\Common Files\microsoft shared\ink\tiptsf.dll' (fImage=1 fExecMap=1 fExecProt=1)
2340.1a78: Error (rc=0):
This is a very new laptop, I have not installed or removed any Micro$oft apps on this yet, so all standard apps on the Lenovo win81 image, which I believe includes Office. Quite happy to uninstall the crap if you think it'll work!

Hi Everyone,

I have been attempting to fix this VB issue with VMs not starting.
I am running the VB 4.3.15 r 95286 as the first post suggests.

Other Info:
OS: Windows 7 Ultimate x64
Antivirus: Kaspersky Pure 3.0 (13.0.2.558 f)
CPU: AMD Phenom II X2 550

I am experiencing error:

I just read the tutorial here viewtopic.php?f=25&t=62618 that said to post my details here.

I just installed "VirtualBox-4.3.14-95030-Win.exe". Now it wont startup. I click the icon. Im seeing this error, please see attachment.

And OracleVBox won't start. I tried right clicking and "Run as Administrator" and same

I am using Windows 8.1 Pro 64bit. AMD A10-7850K CPU which is x64 based processor. 16gb ram (14.9 usable) I think 1.1gb is shared between gpu something.

I am using antivirus:
BitDefender Total Security - Build 17.29.0.1235 Virus signatures: 8256093 Engine version: 7.56429
This is BitDefender Total Seucrity 2014 im pretty sure

Hi, where to find the Virtualbox extension pack for 4.3.15, mandatory to run 4.3.15? Thanks for the response

Earlier posts have said that the 4.3.14 extpack works fine.

4.3.15 still not working

VBox: 4.3.15 r95286
Host: Win7 x64
Guest: any
Anti-virus: AVG Free edition

Error -101 in supR3HardenedWinReSpawn!

When AVG is disabled, VBox is working fine.

The complete VBoxStartup.log is attached.

Hi all!

Here is a new test build: https://www.virtualbox.org/download/tes ... 99-Win.exe

The major fixes since the last test build are:
* The VM processes should start up a bit faster now (at least they do here).
* We've tweaked the way we validate loading of 3rd party DLLs into the process. Must be installed normally and the DLL or their package must be correctly signed. Should help with nvidia detour.dll and a whole bunch of others, we hope. (We won't ever load DLLs without any kind of valid signature.)

Sandboxies users: Don't run VBox in a sandbox, it won't work. Run VBox outside Sandboxie.

We'll be looking closer at the remaining AV issues shortly.

Enjoy,
bird.

Conflict with ViRobot APT Shield (see attached) and Zemana AntiLogger (attached before). Still does not obey my manual Nvidia Optimus enforcing (deal-breaker already). Oh and the attached picture is what I get running Fedora/Ubuntu or start glxgears without those 2 security programs. Server 2012 gets a black screen of death. Test Direct3D also gives the same error message. Using 4.3.14 guest additions.

I don't know why VirtualBox developers are so intent on using all this time and resources on a slow, bug-ridden "security" feature that does not realistically benefit users.

I haven't seen a description of what antivirus issues 4.3.15 r95599 should affect, but I still get the same dialog as 'figurev' a few posts back when I try to launch any VM. My numbers are different though: e9 6b 51 12 80 0 0 0 f 5 c3 f 1f 44 0 0.

Windows 8.1 Pro
Virtualbox 4.3.15 r95599 with 4.3.14 r95030 extension pack
Avast! Free Antivirus 2014.9.0.2021

Hi

I can confirm that VirtualBox v.4.3.15-95599 works on x64 Windows 7 Home Premium (with SP1+latest updates), AVG Free and AMD/ATI drivers.
As posted it does start faster than previous test build, actually on my setup it seems all I/O is slightly faster.
Thanks! =oD

Sorry if I disagree with you but on my WIN 8.1 64bit it do not work. Probably is a my problem.

In my case a new release of expack would be appreciated for a complete test of new version.

:)
