What you mean with "upgrade"? Did you simple overwrite the previous Version of 4.3.14? Or, as me, did first uninstall the previous version and install the new?
I had 4.3.12 installed install on Windows 7 Enterprise with McAfee installed and did the upgrade to 4.3.14. Started a VM with no errors. Did the same on Windows 8.1 Pro with Avira installed and it failed. On the Windows 8.1 I have removed all anti-virus uninstalled VirtualBox re-installed and still it fails. Next is to find a machine I can test a fresh install of Windows 8.1.

Hi, I have problems too after upgrading to 4.3.14, when I try to launch VB an error message appears:

VirtualBox.exe - Bad Image
---------------------------
c:\progra~1\agnitum\outpos~1\wl_hoo~1.dll is either not designed to run on Windows or it contains an error. Try installing the program again using the original installation media or contact your system administrator or the software vendor for support.

I use Windows 8.1 and Outpost Security Suite as security software.

I installed 4.3.14 95030 on Windows 8 with McAffee antivirus (Agent version 4.6.0.3262; VirusScan Enterprise version 8.8.0). I can't start the VMWare executable. When I attempt do do so I get a message that says "VirtualBox - Error in supR3HardenedWinVerifyProcess: Failed to to verify process integrity". Screenshot attached.

That's weird. Why are you using VMWare stuff with VirtualBox? They are different products.

I'm getting the same problem on Windows 8.1 with VirtualBox-4.3.14-95030-Win and xubuntu-14.04-desktop-amd64.iso. I'm running AVG Anti-Virus. However, it also fails with AVG disabled.

Will attempt to reinstall Virtual Box and restart VM's with Avast disabled.
With Antivirus and Firewall disabled, attempted to repair VB install:

Host - Windows 7 Home Premium
AV - Avast

Got the "Failed to install NtCreateSection monitor ..." message on firing up VB GUI.

What does not seem to have been mentioned by anyone else is that I then found that VirtualBox-4.3.14-95030-Win.exe
had been deleted from my download directory.
Assuming I had accidentally deleted it (although it wasn't in the Trash) I downloaded a fresh copy, repeated the install and again the exec file had gone. Would Avast have done that?

I don't have installed any antivirus software. But still i get some errors, 'Fehler in Anwendung' which looks like a general protection fault and 'exit code 1'. My host is in a separate subnet different to that of the router. Only one of my VMs has access to the router and the internet. There's no such thing as drive by downloads on my host because of this, therefore no antivirus is installed. Because of this setup it is absolutely no problem that my host has installed XP. So have no fear of my using XP.

Antivirus software making problems is not the whole story. Directly after booting the host VBox gets the errors but after some minutes all VMs do work and are booting just fine. Why is that? Errors always occur before a VM even boots.

There is no such thing as a conflict with anti-virus packages on my host. There is no other virtualisation/sandboxing software installed beside VirtualBox.
As of version 4.3.14, VirtualBox for Windows has hardened security to eliminate a possible exploit that could allow malicious user/s to have access to your system.
Do you mean a malicious user inside of a vm?

Please don't muddy the waters. No speculation is needed here - the devs know exactly what code changes they made for this minor update, and the affect they expected it to have - hence I assume the unusual step of beta testing a minor update. There is no mystery here, except that so many AV packages use this suspect DLL injection trick, and why so few AV users participated in the beta!

For the sake of completeness within this thread, I'll post my case too.
Trying to run VB gives me following dialog box with Abort button:

My laptop computer is Lenovo Y460N, which has a Nvidia GT425m video card, Core i3 M370 cpu(with a Intel Graphic Card inside), and Win 7 64bit Operating System.

My Anti-Virus software is Eset Smart Security 5. Screenshot:

My installed version is VirtualBox-4.3.14-95030-Win.

Either when I upgraded from 4.3.12 without uninstallation or I uninstalled the previous one and installed 4.3.14 freshly, the same problem occurred:

When I double click the shortcut, this error occurred:

I clicked "OK", this error popped out again.

And I clicked "OK" the second time, another error occured:

That's all.
