Virtualbox doesn't recognize my AMD64

Post by boysha »

I have Windows XP Pro on a AMD Athlon 64 3200+ and when I tried to install the 64 version of Virtualbox it tells me that my machine is 32bit. How can I fix this?
Thanks.

If you read the website and the manual, then you would have known that you cannot install a 64 bit Guest system. If you want to install a 64 bit version of a program, then you need to run a 64 bit OS. The OS versions talk a different language compared to each other. You either need to run XP x64, or just install VB x86 version.

Thank you! That would teach me to read the manual from now on.
All the best!
