Post by Srikanth »

Getting some error after copying all setup files.
Need help on this, below is the log message from virtualbox.

That is the VBoxSVC log, which isn't useful to us unless your problem is with VBoxSVC. If you have a problem with an individual VM then we need that VMs log - the complete log that is, and posted as a .zip attachment. The VM log file is called "VBox.log", and can be found in the "Logs" subfolder of your VM folder.

I note however that in the log fragment you provided shows only 661MB free RAM, which does not leave much room for a VM running a modern OS.

Thanks for providing three logs, however only one was required.

All three logs show the same problem - "No bootable medium found", meaning that no operating system is installed on any disk available to the VM, nor are there any bootable floppies or CDs etc attached.

I assume you understand that after the VM is created you must use a genuine Windows setup CD (or ISO image of same) to install a guest OS. I see that you do have an CD(ISO) attached to the VM, but it doesn't seem to be a setup CD. It might just be the service pack 3 upgrade CD for XP systems?

Hi

Thanks for the update.
I am using ISO for installing XP and not sure if it is setup or a patch.
I will try today again with another setup cd or ISO and let you know.
thank you so much
Thanks
