USB doesn't work on guest Suse Enterprise Linux
Posted: 18. Oct 2012, 12:37
On my Laptop with AMD Processor, Windows 7, I installed the Virtual Box, as a Guest System Suse Linux Enterprise 11.2. I installed the Extension Pack, and added the filters. The version of the Virtual Box is: 4.2.0 r80737.
On the Guest, after I click on the menu "Devices->USB-Devices" and select the one plugged in, I always get the message:
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Failed to attach the USB device HP v165w [0100] to the virtual machine Suse Linux Enterprise 11.2.
USB device 'HP v165w' with UUID {3d78c172-2e7b-4a04-b27f-c4a5ed15d481} is busy with a previous request. Please try again later.
Result Code: E_INVALIDARG (0x80070057)

Callee: IConsole {db7ab4ca-2a3f-4183-9243-c1208da92392}

I have tried the instructions from the a web-side: "tecchannel.de/server/tipps/2037938/tipp_virtualisierung_usb_geraete_in_virtualbox_nutzen/"
without any success.
I also have read that the VM-Box may have problems with USB-3.0 ports? Since my Laptop is new, it doesn't have any USB 2.0 ports.
Thanks in advance for your help.
