I have window 8 installed in another virtualbox and bridged network is working.
However in server 2012 rc, the network is not working, either nat or bridged.
The device Id is the usual: PCI\VEN_1022&DEV_2000&SUBSYS_20001022&REV_40
I am manually installing the intel pro/1000 mt desktop adapter, doesn't work. Didn't have to do this for windows 8 as I recall.
I am getting the error This device cannot start in device manager, and
Intel(R) PRO/1000 MT Desktop Adapter: Could not find a network adapter.
In the windows system event log.

The intel pro/1000 mt desktop was not listed in the vb ui. I changed the os type to windows 2008 x64 and I had more choices for network cards. So it is working now as intel pro/1000 mt desktop.

Intel(R) PRO/1000 MT Desktop Adapter is now also available for Windows 2012 server OS in the recent versions of Vbox
