No Shared Folders in Windows 8 Guest on Windows 7 Host

How can I get shared folders to show up on the Windows 8 Guest?

I added a folder in VirtualBox>Windows 8>Settings>Shared Folders>Machine Folders: C:\Folder; Auto-Mount: Yes; Access: Full; Make Permenant (ticked).

Followed by a forced install of the Guest Additions (VboxWindowsAdditions-amd64.exe /force).

Then Windows Explorer>Computer>Map Network Drive>Drive: Z:; Folder: \\Vboxsvr\Folder; Reconnect at logon (ticked); Connect using different credentials (ticked).

An error comes up saying "Windows cannot access \\Vboxsvr\Folder".

Then tried "net use x: \\Vboxsvr\Folder" through Command Prompt ran as Adminstrator with "The network name cannot found" as a result.

How can I solve this?

You may have tried to "force install" but that does not mean they worked. The guest additions are not compatible with Windows 8 yet.

On the other hand, Windows networking should work to access the host's network shares from within the guest...
