I'm not the OP, but I have this same problem. The only audio error I'm seeing in the logs is concerning opening up the input devices(mic and line-in). I don't understand why it's trying to open these exclusively anyway.

00:00:04.017 VM: Raising runtime error 'HostAudioNotResponding' (fFlags=0x0)
00:00:04.017 Console: VM runtime error: fatal=false, errorID=HostAudioNotResponding message="Some audio devices (PCM_in, PCM_mic) could not be opened. Guest applications generating audio output or depending on audio input may hang. Make sure your host audio device is working properly. Check the logfile for error messages of the audio subsystem"
I've tried enabling and disabling exclusive access to the sound card in Windows 7 as well as running VirtualBox as an administrator. Nothing I've tried gets rid of this issue
